Austrian Emission Sticker
Mandatory for commercial vehicles in Austria - secure yours in time!
The emission sticker has been mandatory in Austria since 2015 for all commercial vehicles of classes N1, N2 and N3 that wish to enter so-called environmental zones (IG-L zones). These zones already exist in several federal states (e.g. Vienna, Lower Austria, Styria, Tyrol, Upper Austria) and primarily apply to motorways, urban areas and certain cities.
Without a valid sticker, high fines and driving bans are threatened.
Who needs the emission sticker?
- All commercial vehicles of classes N1, N2 and N3 (light, medium and heavy trucks)
- Mandatory in all environmental zones according to IG-L (Immissionsschutzgesetz Luft - Air Pollution Control Act)
- Affected are motorways, expressways and urban areas in several federal states
Important information for issuance:
For your sticker to be valid, it must be issued vehicle-specific.
- When ordering, please upload the vehicle registration certificate (Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil 1) or a valid CEMT document.
- The last 6 digits of your vehicle's chassis number (FIN / VIN) must be entered on the sticker. Only then is it legally valid.
- The sticker is non-transferable – it is only valid for the vehicle for which it was issued.
